Don’t measure your future by your past. If you do, you’re sunk. ~ Napoleon Hill

I’m stuck at home. It gets depressing, and hours can easily get wasted. One day blends into the next, and I’m worried about losing a sense of newness and wonder.

Lately, I’ve been staying up until the wee hours and then slumbering like a bear into groggy late morning.

Watching the sunrise.

I found a simple solution. No food late at night and then waking up before sunrise. There is something magical about being awake as the day dawns. I cannot help but feel a profound sense of gratitude and renewed energy as I see the sky begin to burst forth with light.

It takes a modest amount of self-discipline, but the reward more than compensates.

Understand the daily cycle.

Do you know what the first word of the Hebrew Bible is? Many people think that it starts, “In the beginning…” But the actual Hebrew word is Bereshit, בְּרֵאשִׁית, which can be translated ‘for beginnings.’

The purpose of creation was to provide a reality that consisted of new beginnings each day.
