My First Month Results on Medium

For 2020, I decided to write articles on the Medium platform. I originally submitted one article in November of 2020 as a test; just to see how it works. Then in December 2019, I filled out all the instructions to become a paid contributor.

I saw that the creator of Medium had been the creator of Twitter and I thought that the format and layout was something that would be ideally suited to someone that enjoys writing short blurbs.

I have published on the KDP platform from Amazon and I also like that self-publishing tool very much. However, now that I am older, it seems much easier to get a short idea down in writing instead of the longer planning and more effort needed for a complete book on KDP.

So far, I really like the idea of sharing thoughts and posting them as a preserved archive of different things I have been studying or experiencing.

In my first month, I wrote 12 articles and had 11 views and 3 reads. The only promotion I have done is through social media. I posted a few of the articles to twitter. I posted a few of the free links to my Facebook.

Out of about 100 friends on Facebook, I think I had two views and no reads. I also posted to a writers group of about 1000 members but this also resulted in no reads. These…
