My Second Months Results on Medium
Earning pennies per hour, am I the rat in the cage?
To recap, in my first month, I wrote 12 articles and had 11 views, three reads, and gained one fan.
In my second month, I published 14 new articles, had 1,442 views, 358 reads, and gained 14 fans.
The article below had eight views and only two reads. Yet it earned 0.07 cents. (It attracted 65 claps.)

The article below had over 1000 views, and 238 reads. Yet it only earned 0.04 cents. (It attracted 35 claps.)

Several reasons for this could include:
· Articles about some topics pay more, some less.
· Payment is based much more on claps than views or reads.
· Payment for articles is random.
I am still in learning mode. It seems there is no direct correlation between how much an article gets read and how much it earns. An indirect payment schedule would make sense since a random distribution of reward is likely to result in a more considerable effort.
